Sister Cities Project is expanding its Community Connections impact programming to provide casual spaces for like-minded residents of San Diego to talk about racial equity. Over the last four years, I have heard from many people that they care about racial equity but are unsure how to take meaningful action. We’re excited to invite you to our inaugural “Authentic Coffee Chats” gathering in Solana Beach this weekend.

What: “Authentic Coffee Chats: Exploring Racial Equity Together”
Date: Saturday, December 7, 2024
Where: Starbucks, Solana Beach East
*Starbucks in the center with Home Goods and Vons East of Hwy 5
Time: 10am – 11am

What’s the format?

Join us for a conversation about racial equity at the neighborhood Starbucks in Solana Beach. We’re creating a welcoming and safe space to share our personal experiences and reflect on how race and equity have shaped our lives and communities.

Sister Cities Project will guide this inaugural “meet up” discussion with a few prompts, but the heart of this gathering is your story and perspective. Whether you’re just beginning to explore these topics or have been thinking about them for years, your voice matters. Bring your collaborative spirit. We know that talking eventually leads to action, and we’ll need to work together as this conversation expands across San Diego communities.

Get your favorite Starbucks drink and treat, and let’s have an open, honest conversation together. This small group setting offers a perfect opportunity to listen, share, and connect with others who care about racial equity in San Diego and beyond.

You can join our Meet-up group page to RSVP.

I look forwarding to chatting with you on Saturday!
