Sister Cities Project / Workforce Development

Our Workforce Development programs are about giving Black youth training and access to the earning power of the Digital Economy.

Featured Program:

(Eco)Agency™

Sister Cities Project’s (Eco)Agency, the flagship program of our Workforce Development Impact Area, is a proprietary, proven training program that offers Black youth, primarily women, ages 18 to 24 the opportunity to be mentored and trained in digital marketing by local industry professionals. Utilizing advanced social media tools and techniques, (Eco)Agency students successfully create and manage social media campaigns for small businesses and entrepreneurs in marginalized communities, who traditionally do not have the budget for these types of services. The (Eco)Agency program includes the following:

  • 12-week paid hands-on training program: Students receive training in digital marketing from industry professionals while providing digital marketing services for a small business located within their local communities (e.g. City Heights)
  • 12-week paid internship program: Students provide digital marketing services for a small business located within the Sister City partner communities (e.g. Encinitas).
  • Ongoing services for SCP Entrepreneurs: Students provide free/low-cost digital marketing services Black Women Entrepreneurs in the SCP network

The SCP (Eco)Agency cohorts are funded in collaboration with the San Diego Workforce Partnership.
