Economic Equity
Young Black and In Business – December 1, 2024 – Red Carpet Awards Gala – Celebrate Excellence and Progress,

This extraordinary organization is run by Community Leader, Roosevelt Williams. Economic Development lifts communities. Small businesses are an economic engine in America. This is a Gala for an innovative all inclusive Networking Organization Serving America’s Diverse Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs.

Food Sovereignty:
Project New Village Gala – December 5, 2024 – 6-8pm
https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/4c3748cc-8fed-4786-9cc0-d473e602f2fe

Project New Village is a non-profit organization addressing the food desert that persists in Southeast San Diego. Please consider attending this Gala to help fund their work. This is always a festive event with an opportunity to get to know an interesting community of people committed to food justice and community empowerment.

Health Equity:
Chow and Chat – Diverse Medical Research,  December 6, 2024

Time: 6-8 pm www.diverseResearchNow.com/sign-up
Learn about Health Equity and how it begins with a diverse group of participants in medical research. Systemic bias in research is a cause of health inequity that gets very little attention.

I encourage you to embrace being a little uncomfortable as you integrate into new spaces to meet fellow neighbors.  In this ecosystem of remarkable neighbors, I am sure you will find like-minded new friends.

If you are reading this newsletter and you have an organization in our Sister City Partner community, please let us know about your events so we can find ways to support you.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Founder

Equity is about fairness. Unlike equality, which gives everyone the same thing, equity understands that people start at different points, so we need to provide more support to those who need it to create a fair chance for all.
